Frans A. Schaaf
I have dogs from my earliest years, my father has bred dogs so I have experiences over a long period. I started with a Dutch Shepherd, later a German Shepherd and after them I had Bouviers. Since 1970 I have Rottweilers and since 1977- I bred under the kennelname: van het Land van Sittard. (it means of the Land of Sittard , my hometown).
In the meanwhile I have had two Alaskan Malamutes as pets.
Since 1984 I am a Specialist judge for the Rottweiler, and since than I have judged Rottweilers in: Belgium – Spain – Portugal – Italy – Austria – Germany (ADRK) – Poland – Argentina – Russia – Norway –Finland – Sweden – Israel – England – Ireland – Jamaica – USA – Brasil – Colombia – Chile – Peru – Australia – NewSealand – South Africa – Indonesia – Slovenia – Bulgaria – Hungary – Canada – Greece – France – Luxemburg – and of course in the Netherlands. In most of these countries I have judged several times ( in Spain 24 times).
From 1980 till 1982 I have been the secretary of our Rottweilerclub and since 1986 – till July 2005 I have been the Chairman (President) of our Rottweilerclub in the Netherlands, in our best years (2000) we had ca 2500 members.
As more as 20 years I am breedwarden in our club, so you can imagine that I have a lot to do for our Rottweilers.
Since 2003 I am a member of the Board of Directors of the Dutch Kennelclub( Raad van Beheer), I am the Vice-President and a specially Working Dogs and all other kinds of sport with dogs are my responsbility, further FCI group 1 and 2 . I am a member of the FCI Breeding Commission too. But while I am since 11 years with early retirement, (I have been a general manager in a Fashion factory) I can spend a lot of my freetime to the dogs.
